The Computer Verse of late 2000s.

Computers are the best technology hands-down after fighter jets according to me. The digital age brought the wonder of internet to us. It is so cool to have all this information few clicks away. Today, I am going to share some interesting things you can do with the power of internet at your hands. Let me tell you about some cool places on internet to visit, some cool tricks with computers etc. Some of this is outdated but was a wonder to me as a child. Some of this is illegal. So, before we begin, here is the disclaimer: This post is for educational and informative purposes only. I am not responsible if using these methods causes you to land in jail. Let us begin.

Cutting off internet of other devices on your local network.

This is a cool trick that works on Windows and Linux computers. You can cut off internet to other computers on your network and have all the bandwidth for yourself. For this, we have Arcai Netcut (Windows) and Tuxcut (Linux). Install them. You can see the connected machines on your network and cut off their internet. You can also change your visible MAC address on network. This is called ARP-Spoof attack. I found out that no other application other than McAfee for Android detects this attack. Even then, it can do nothing to turn internet on back on the device. It is called MAC spoofing attack.

Install Android on PC.

I am talking about full Android installation on PC and not some emulators. Androidx86 is the project you are looking for. Remix OS used to work on the PC until few years back before it was shutdown. Now-a-days, there is Phoenix OS. You can make a persistent USB for this purpose or install it on a pen drive and use it on the go. Comes in very handy if you want to play games like Clash of Clans or FarmVille: Country Escape on PC.

Old sites where people used to find Software, Games and Movies/TV.

You can download free software from Filehippo, Filehorse, cnet.com etc. Cool donated games can be downloaded from itch.io. Some very cool free games are also available on Steam. But if you want paid software and games for free, you will have to go the illegal way. Remember, it is illegal and I am not responsible for what you do. ThePirateBay is the central hub for it. You will need torrent or app like that. You may also need to hide your IP (see below). You can find product keys on Pastebin. Serials.be used to work. Cracked games are also available on Fitgirl Repacks, nosteam.ru, Skidrow-Reloaded etc. If you want to get free Windows product key code, try Microsoft Toolkit or KMSpico. It works very well. Disable realtime protection in Windows defender before downloading and using these. For free movies and TV, try 123movies, gomovies, Popcorn Time. Again, I want to remind you that it is illegal. If you like the stuff, buy it and support the creators.

Music sites and files where music used to be found.

Mp3skull was the best to download music back in the day. Now-a-days, you can try mp3clan but it lets you download only 4 files per day. I also heard about iplusfree but never tried it. You can try this simple google search: intitle: "index of" "song-name" . You can also download files for free through this trick: intitle: "index of" "file-name" filetype:"file-extension" . For songs, I would rather advise you use Spotify. It comes with ads and streaming-only for unpaid version but it is nicer than all the headache.

Hiding IP address/ Browsing banned sites.

OpenVPN-gui for computers. Use VPN servers like vpnbook.com . There are some chrome extensions too available in chrome web store like HolaVPN. Apps like HolaVPN and TurboVPN are available on Google Play Store and work very well.

Free premium account passwords.

Bugmenot and again, Pastebin.

Free internet on mobile devices.

Search: '"service-provider-name" proxy hack' on google.

Free Tutorials and downloading premium big files.

You can go to edX, Coursera, IBM learning, The Linux Foundation Trainings etc. However some courses are not free. These can be downloaded by searching the course name and teacher name on google. You may want to try "leeching" services. Search "premium leech" or go here to get the links to download big files from paid servers.

Changing Router Configurations and ipscanner.

Go to 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 in your browser to play with your router. Credentials are usually admin:admin or admin:password. I remember times when it was easy to hack your router to increase internet speeds.  Angry IP scanner or any other IP scanner can be used to search for open ports around your network. Combined with show password extensions, it can be used to steal network credentials (The credentials your ISP gives you) from remote routers.

Ping, FTP and telnet.

Command 'ping "site-address"' in cmd/terminal can be used to see if any site or network device is working. There is also some cool stuff on old telnet and ftp sites available like ASCII star-wars. You can search the google for it.

Security Research OS.

BlackArch Linux. Visit its website. It has over 2000 tools (list here). If you boot it, credentials are root:blackarch. If you want to install it, you will have to change blackarch install-script first.

Change Linux root password or for any other user.

Press Left Shift key at the start of Linux boot. Grub will open. Highlight top most option and press e. On the line starting with "linux...", change replace everything starting from "ro ..." to "rw init=/bin/bash". Press CTRL+X. Type "su -". This is root access. Type "passwd" and change the root password. For any other user, type 'passwd "user-name"' and change the password. To prevent this from happening, put password on your bios.
